April 5 - First club group ride of 2014

This is a short video of our first club group ride. Sorry for the limited video content as I needed a lead rider so that I could video everyone, next time!

The ride took us the long country route to Karlstejn, Beroun and then on to Krivoklat where we had a nice lunch then returning back to Repy in Prague.

Thanks to (left to right) Phil, Antonio, Stu, Carl, Attila, Allen and Vitaly for attending the ride

Hope to see you all of you on the next ride!!

12 April 2014 Ride

We went for a short afternoon ride out towards Slapy Dam the longest route possible together with some new club members - Davis & Kevin. We all met at McDonalds on the D1 and then headed South to Jilove and Slapy dam.  At Slapy we stopped for a drink at the bikers bar which overlooks the lake from a high point that provides great views of the area.

Below is a short video from the ride which ended up being at a faster pace than expected but good fun was had by all.

The photograph on the right - from left to right, Vitaly, Kevin, Davis, Attila and Bartosz take from the bikers bar above Slapy lake.

4th May 2014 Ride

This is one of the club oldest and special rides to visit the Bikers Caves at Polekne Doly and then for some fun time on an old dissused former Russian military airfield at Hradceny near Mimon.

Part of the ride is not complete without a pit stop at the Agip petrol station in Duba, here you can allways find a great selection of different motorbikes and meet other bikers. Plus fill up with fuel and coffee  ready for the fast return ride back to Melnik.

The caves are former sandstone quarry that was mined as part of the local glass production in the nearby village. The caves have a strange history as they were also used durring the second world war by the Nazis. They have also appeared in well known films such as Soloman Kane and other Czech nursey tales. Now converted to a bikers bar they have become famous for there wild rock concerts and bikers meetings due to there close proximity to Poland and Germany they also attract vistors from those countries as well. Another main attraction to the caves are the roads that lead to the caves which are some of the best twisty and technical routes in CZ. In fact the road from Melnik to the caves are also known as the unofficial GP road circuit where you will see a lot of other bikers showing their skils(or lack of them) it also has the highest accident rate in the whole of CZ for bikers deaths.

After the caves we had a short ride to the Hradceny Airfield, were we spent some time looking at the old aircraft hangers and playing on the runway. The airiled is famous for being one if the longest and widest in all Europe. Now dissused and open to the public it is used to train car drivers  and motorbikers with plenty of room for everyone to have fun on.
